Eateries: Need A Game Plan

The National Restaurant Association needs to formulate a national plan and standards for eateries to partially open in a manner that observes physical distancing. Factors to consider--and there are many beyond this simple list.

  1. Approval of an eatery must be done by a public official in the localities' health administration.
  2. Seating must be for couples or families, no unrelated or uncommitted persons.
  3. Like take-out, the diners pick up their food.
  4. Eateries will have on-line limited menus with reservations--software developed by the NRA.
  5. Parking lots should be used when possible since full patronage will not be possible.
  6. Employees should be limited in workhours so as to share the available work.
  7. Gradually re-building the economy in small ways is surer than government fiat which usually fails.

I support the Nat. Restaurant Association developing a working plan
for eateries to gradually build the economy.
