No Navy Hill: New Brooms Sweep Clean
Handout (front)
  1. Economics 101: As generals fight new wars with old war tactics, politicians repeat useless paradigms.
    1. RVA is a zero-sum economy: Areas cannot be politically over-privileged w/o de-privileging others.
    2. Tax-funded projects cause depressed areas: Downtown, JD, Midlo, SS Plaza, Willow Lawn, Stoney Pt.
    3. Politicians littered RVA with failures: 6th St Bridge, Canal Walk, Main St. Station, Farmers Mkt, Pulse Bus, etc.
    4. New Jobs? Fooey, jobs shift. (We need 24in4: Share job time or jobless crime.)
    5. Navy Hill will cause more crime and less money for social programs and public education.
    6. Richmond loses middle-class workers without drawing these expats for downtown spending in part from unnecessary high city taxes. Taxes will worsen with inevitable failure of Navy Hill.
    7. Will Richmond ever be a tourist magnet beyond Civil War detritus? No.
    8. Funded by corporate myops, dreamy-eyed politicians play a broken record of gaudy symbols without sustainable substance.
  2. Climate Hell: Cancers, Criminals & Lemmings
    1. Concrete is the #2 cause of climate change. Construction accelerates the global holocaust of greenhouse gases that will kill billions whereas the Nazi Holocaust killed ten million.
    2. Climate cancers motivate climate lemmings to drive CO2-belching cars to watch sports players. Bigger stadiums mean bigger CO2-sinning against an increasingly angry Mama Nature.
    3. The main reason for NO Navy Hill--beyond another tax blackhole, aka, white elephant--is the Primary Moral Imperative of saving life on Planet Earth from climate hell. (If you want to understand climate change so as to prepare for the worser than worst, read Carbon Dioxide: The Global, Multi-Tasking Killer Molecule.)
  3. Richmond City Council voted down a taxpayers' referendum on the Navy Hill project. Thus, taxpayers must recall councilmembers so as to elect more responsible adults who will vote NO on Navy Hill. Virginia law provides for recall of  elected and appointed officials.
