Time Thieves: Internet Companies won't take "No" for answer

Google, Amazon, YouTube and others

Our sense of not having enough time each day is aggravated by many little time thieves. When one is unnecessarily distracted and required to perform unnecessary action, one's day has less free time. As a rule, like someone stepping on your toes, your emotional reserves are drained, not enhanced.

Common time thieves include repeated pop-up marketing by internet companies. They won't take no for answer. They know our past history of saying no. What part of no don't they understand.

  1. Amazon is always wasting consumers' time with "Do you want Prime." The wording is nebulous so that one can accidentally signup for Prime. Then, the real time theft begins as one must navigatge a tortuous journey to cancel Prime.
  2. Google keeps asking if I want its Chrome.
  3. YouTube: Want no ads?

These marketing pitches should be limited to once-a-month. Punishment to be spelled out when Nasty Time Thieves omnibus bill is passed. Furthermore, cancellation should be simple process of username and password, not an intelligence exam that would test the patience of Job.  We wouild have less stress and abuse if fewer nasty time thieves.

What part of "No" don't they understand?
