Trump Virus and Trump Pandemic

Yes, the medical term is Covid-19. Yes, Trump wants to call it the China virus. But, as the disease affects more and more Americans, it should be called

the Trump Virus

because of what Trump did and did not do.

1. The exiting Obama administrators counseled the incoming Trump team to watch out for signs of a pandemic.
2. In 2018, Trump closed down the pandemic response team of the White House intelligence committee.
3. In 2019, White House Economists warned of pandemic killing 500,000 Americans and "devastate the economy." (NYT 200301)
4. In 2020, Trump kept ignoring signs of an impending pandemic.
5. "US 'wasted' months before preparing for pandemic." (RTD, 200406)
6. The Washington Post listed 31 times that "Trump downplayed the coronavirus" on national tv. (video)

When faced with unpleasant uncertainty, one can proceeds with caution or igknorance--Trump chose and continues to choose the latter.

These are the main reasons why it should be called the Trump virus and pandemic. There are many more, but these are enough.
