CaveGarden: 2.5 to 3.0 higher yield

First of all, CaveGarden was a bad name for what should have been called ArborGarden inasmuch as the vining plants climb and cross an arbor to create caves. Examples are

cukes: longest plant--39 feet ... 1/3 bushel yield per

tomatos: $6,000 in a 10x16 cave ... longest plant: 27 feet

sweet potatos: 300 pounds from a 8x16 cave

Benefits of CaveGardening:

  1. Higher yield per square foot.
  2. Better pest control.
  3. Use drip irrigation to reduce water use (25%) and eliminate broadcast watering which pulls mildew, bacteria and viruses out of the air.
  4. Eliminate rodent eating ground lying vegetables.
  5. Easier to remove collaterals/suckers.
  6. Easier to see and pick vegetables.
  7. Difference between dreadlock gardening and bootcamp crop.

A goal of Timism is the establishment of community gardens in all public funded housing so fresh vegetables are available and NUSA jobs for youngsters which teach lessons of life for a better future.
