Promise of Timism
Timism promises you more freedom from time-wasting problems.
Timism cannot promise, howerver, that you will use the increased free time
Reduce Workweek Length and Less Social Hell
Historically, two trends dominate the time-savings of better problem-solving and increased productivity. Up to the Great Depressions, unions kept demanding shorter workweeks. In 1900, the average workweek was 70 hours. By 1930s, it had dropped to near-40 hours. When unemployment reached 25% during the great depression, one US Supreme Court Justiced suggestedc cutting the workweek proportionally as unemployment increased. Thus, everyone would have cost of living income instead of a few living high off of the hog.
Unions said, "No." This job-hogging mentality is why we have numerous counter-productive welfare agencies, middle-class welfare and unemployment in many forms. Unemployment is the biggest cause of a higher cost of living for workers, a social hell. Workers would have more money and time if they shared the work rather than work for the food, housing and healthcare of jobless citizenry.
If the workweek had been adjusted downward, we would have 24in4: More time and freedom with more funds and fun for self, family, and community in a safer, saner world. To wit, Share Job Time or Jobless Crime.
Malignant Materialism and Climate Hell
Because the workweek was not reduced to reflect lower cost of production, the increased wages and productivity translated into malignant materialism. People used their pay beyond the cost of living to buy things they did not need that generated unneeded CO2. We need to cut unneed pay hours.
The CO2 Cost of Humanity to Mother Nature has two parts: Living and Lying, a 10% to 90% ratio. Rough calculation: Every hour of unneeded paid work generates twelve pounds of life-destroying carbon dioxide. It is not a one-and-done. Job-hogging, two-jobbers generate more CO2 than a homeless person. Which is killing life on earth?
Like bank fractional lending, the excessive pay stimulates downwind CO2-sinning. Instead of money multiplication, the environment suffers a multiplication of CO2-sinning agianst Mother Nature.
These cascading dollars symbolize how the igknowant muddled-class confuses more funny numbers on funny paper for increased wealth. In 1920s Germany's hyper-inflation, most workers were poor, hungry, jobless billionaires.
To slow climate change, we need to reduce the workweek, to wit, Share Job Time or Climate Refugee Time.
Hopefully, the time-savings of Timism will have people remembering two philosphers.
America does not have a middle-class. It has a muddled-class of the blind leading the blind. We need igknowance taxes on those who choose to not know to be better problem-solvers for self and humanity.
