United States of America owes Ukraine

In exchange for Ukraine giving up nuclear weapons in 1994, its security and sovereignty were guaranteed by the Budapest Memorandum

According to the three memoranda, Russia, the US and the UK confirmed their recognition of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine becoming parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning their nuclear arsenal to Russia and that they agreed to the following:

  1. Respect the signatory's independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
  2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against the signatory.

In recognition of U.S. obligation, the two-fer nature of start-up payments to support Ukraine has the U.S. as source of lifehour credits while the currency payback is from the Global Democracy Tax.

Personally and professionally, the U.S. Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken has skin in the game.

I support the U.S. fulfilling its pledge to Ukraine
