Why are almost all rivers at record low levels? The culprit is
Hydrophilia, the simple,
molecular 'smoking gun' of climate change. Land is where the CO2
is generated. Land is where the water is soaked up. Wind carries the CO2-bound
water downwind.until the
"soda bottle shake." Some shakes are before the coastline.
The rest is water removed from the balance of nature.
As atmospheric CO2 increases, more water is absorbed. Increasingly, the ratio of land to ocean rainfall is decreasing as winds blow the heavier CO2/H20 masses out to sea. The hydrophilic extinction level event is exacerbated by less land rainfall.
This changing land/sea rainfall ratio is not a once-in-a-thousand years Christmas present. Next year will have more coal in the stockings.
It is a time, a final time, for the Serenity Prayer.
Since the original 1982 essay (Oil Droughts), all major droughts have been detailed and explained (see Global Dying). Major CO2 sources increase water uptake. Then the water absorption envelope increases in size with increased C02. Simple math.

One clear cut proof of hydrophilia is the
Horn of Africa drought, It began in the mid-1960s when
upwind daily oil production on the Saudi Peninsula reached 8 million barrels.
The average barrel of oil has 143 barrels of natural gas. Its pressure generates
oil well gushers.
The gas is not commercially salable because of transportation costs. It is burned off. Daily, about 8 billion cubic feet of natural gas become plumes of CO2. Satellite images of Saddam Hussein igniting oil wells show the prevailing wind patterns carrying smoke (and ground-hugging CO2) onto the Horn of Africa. The Horn of Africa drought went away for the nine months that coincided with the OPEC oil embargo during the Israeli Yom Kippur War in the mid-1970s. Oil production dropped by 95%. This time correlation of CO2 production/cessation can be seen in similar events. The three U.S. Dustbowls (1933, 1950, and 1998) were not due to farming techniques as weatherheads claim. They were due to discovery and exploitation of upwind massive oil fields, e.g., SpindleTop. |
Another example of an ever-larger CO2 drought envelope is from Brazil's increased off-shore oil drilling. With each oil well, the downwind drought envelope enlarged. It is why the Amazon rainforest is no longer a CO2 sink but a CO2 generator.
This time-line correlation can also be seen in two U.S. East Coast droughts of the 1990s and 2005. The development of massive Gulf of Mexico(GOM) oil wells involved illegal burning of natural gas. The resulting ground-hugging CO2 blanket followed the windpatterns of hurricanes up the East Coast as additional GOM wells were added. Average US oil well daily produces 7 barrels. GOM wells produce 50,000 to 100,000 barrels. (This is why BP New Horizon GOM well blowout was horrible: 4.9 million barrels before capped.)
As the burning increased, the drought envelope enlarged. At one point, Virginia Tech's water reserves were so low that the university considered cancellation of the second semester. Luckily for students, oil companies finished installing pipelines to transport the natural gas to market. The East Coast Drought went away.
The East Coast drought returned with Category 5 Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It tore up the Gulf pipelines, both oil and gas. Guess which system the oil companies repaired first. Guess what happened on the East Coast as oil companies again illegally burned off natural gas. The East Coast drought returned until the gas pipelines were fixed.
In the mid-2010s, Dominion Power of Virginia, formerly VEPCO, was contructing a gas pipeline from West Virginia to the East Coast. Branches will go north and south. This natural gas pipeline was expected to carry billions of cubic feet of natural gas that would dramatically increase the CO2 generation on the East Coast. Based on the numerous documented examples of drought at the source or downwind from massive CO2 generation, the East Coast can expect rainfall to decrease and expect massive forest fires. When the latter happens, all the Dominion executives and pipeline construction executives should be arraigned on criminal charges for crimes against Virginia, Virginians, and humanity as well as against life on earth. When this concerned citizen was protesting outside of Dominian's headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, 2015, a number of Dominion employees said they did not care if CO2 was generated, they cared only about their jobs. This is no different than the concentration camp guards who willingly gassed innocent people because they needed a job. Fortunately, Dominion Power canceled this pipeline but not another one.

| "The Mountain Valley Pipeline is a 303-mile natural gas transmission
system running from Wetzel County, West Virginia, to Pittsylvania County,
Virginia. Operating since June 2024, the 42-inch-diameter pipeline transports
up to 2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per
day from the Marcellus and Utica shale formations." (Google)
Dominion Power is sending Mid-Atlantic crop water into the ocean. Will the Virginia habitual politicians (dependent on Dominion's mother's milk of politics) observe the Primary Moral Imperative of saving life on Planet Earth? Or, kick the can down the road, a can that is the biggest can ever ... Climate Hell. Do the math: "2 billion cubic feet" is one-fourth of the daily burn-off of the Saudi Penninsula that has devastated the Horn of Africa for decades (see above). |
| As noted in Polar Timebomb, the day of reckoning will be the collapse of the foodchain with massive violence and deaths by hungry, angry masses. |
Petrophiliacs yelling, "We need more energy to grow the economy" are like the military in Vietnam citing the need for more Agent Orange to win over the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese people. More fossil fuels is a saltwater solution, sounds good at first but makes a problem worse.
Habitual politicians will not bite the hand that feeds their campaign
chest.
For habitual problems, vote for habitual politicians,
worse than not voting at all.

Killer Molecule: Droughts, Fires, Floods, Tornados, Hurricanes, etc.
If you do not share this message with ten friends, you are voting for climate
hell on earth.

[This climate researcher has been ahead in understanding atmospheric dynamics since 1982 with "Oil Droughts"--almost half of a century. Due to my background in electricity and chemistry(resume), I am probably the only person who understands atmospheric dynamics as what it is, that is, an electro-chemical process. Weatherheads obsess on computer simulation. This is like the pope writing on human sexuality after listening thru a closed door to an orgy.
I don't understand why academia, government and media are not putting hydrophilia front-and-center in research, policy and broadcast. Nor do I understand why Timism's 20,000 recipients chose not to be Catalysts for Better Democracy (or make a donation via the Gofundme "Climate Change: Sacrifice Now or Suffer Forever.") All are paying the cost of igknowance from worsening global inflation and from random natural disasters. The climate lemmings are blindly marching to the precipice of the abyss.]
