Canadian Fires: It is not the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop ... MN & US drought and fires
Often a symptom obscures a deeper problem. This is the case with the worst ever smoke from Canadian fires in July, 2026 ... more than last year ... less than next year. Satellite images show the worsening, larger trends in climate change. Increased CO2 increases the size of weather systems from stretching across a few states to stretching across the whole US from Canada to Mexico.
The smoke from the Canadian fires will not kill us as a whole. The real hidden curse is the underlying, ground-hugging dessicating CO2. It will cause downwind droughts and fires, e.g., Minnesota. Homeowners, cities and states are not prepared to prevent brush fires from becoming forest fires, e.g., the proposed Global Firefighting Authority
In 1999, an essay described the developing Canadian drought envelope and forest fires around Ft. Murray, Alberta. The local weather change was an example of hydrophilia, the molecular smoking gun of climate change. The exploration of the tar sands generated atmospheric masses of CO2 that dessicated the local and downwind flora. This essay was sent to several hundred Canadian media, government and academia sources.

Of Minnesota, I first alerted Minneapolis WCCO on climate change in 2001. Minnesota legislators were emailed in 2021. In 2002, Mary Losure, a spokesperson for Minnesota Public Radio, told me I should stop contacting them about climate change. Minnesota would not be evacuating the Boundary Waters if my missives were taken seriously.

The marginal Canadian fires have increased in number and size as a result of the upwind CO2 coming from Russia's Siberian fires. One can see the seasonal variation of hydrophilia in the winds carrying the Siberian CO2 over the Bering Strait or over the Pacific Ocean. When the earth's axis summer in the northern latitudes, the unsaturated Siberian CO2 increases Canadian droughts and fires. When the axis is at the other extreme, the jet stream CO2 over the Pacific Ocean becomes the atmospheric rivers that devastates homes, jobs and crops.
This seasonal shift between drought and deluge is the opposite in the southern latitudes. Australia's 2003 Christmas Fire was 1,400 miles long and burned up a quarter of it capital. The cyclones destroying the Phillipines are driven by upwind Australia's CO2 sins against Mother Nature. This hydrophilic process is behind Europe's seasonal ying-yang of derecho and drought.

The politicians are not using the most inexpensive solutions. Their pork barrels are going to bankrupt communities and leavie them without the means to transport water, gas and sewage. Billions of dollars will be wasted on an approach that rewards habitual politicians' base rather than organizing citizens to self-serve for pennies on the dollar. Money for needed services will be lessened as habitual politicians enrich their campaign contributors. Timism has a larger encompassing plan provides basic health care for olunteer community service. The only thing worse than not voting is voting for habitual politicians. That is the same as voting for habitual problems. In the 2026 US Mid-Term elections, more than 90% of the incumbents of the do-less-than-nothing 117th Congress will be re-elected. One can lead habitual politicians to wisdom, but one cannot make them wise.. |
